Unbowed Celtic's manager does not fear dismissal however supporters show anger following defeat.
The Celtic boss stated he was not afraid of losing his job, claiming, “I believe we are really close to things turning around,” in the wake of sliding worryingly close to the exit with a heavy loss to Rangers.
A Second-Half Collapse Results in Old Firm Disaster
The home side were in front their oldest rivals at the break but a second-half capitulation allowed Rangers to pull level on points with the current league title holders. The French coach, who was appointed from the MLS, has now presided over six losses in his first eight fixtures.
“We are together with the board,” insisted the manager.
Asked directly about his own future, he replied: “It’s not on my mind. My focus is on finding ways to help my team to excel on the fine details.
Protest Outside Parkhead
Celtic’s support displayed their anger – towards the board and manager – by protesting at Parkhead. The hierarchy are reportedly likely to bring back the former boss, who steered the club during a caretaker period previously, should a change be made.
“The outcomes [that leads to pressure]. And that’s the situation for the moment. But by saying this is the reality, I am not saying that I am pessimistic. Absolutely not. What I mean the turnaround is near, extremely close to reverse our form.”
Focus on the Details

The victorious boss was cautious about a serious challenge even after what appeared to be a huge result. “One match at a time, then we can really build up something here,” he said. “The faith in the squad is excellent.”
