Renowned Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
US entertainer Finn, who appeared in popular television series including "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in Los Angeles recently after undergoing treatment for cancer beginning in 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous popular shows, like:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in "The Middle", appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe called Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored countless students over the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he shared online.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
