New Year's Revelers Urged to Bundle Up with Snow Expected Throughout the UK
Forecasters have indicated an icy start to the new year, with snowfall expected over large parts of the UK. Revelers are being urged to wrap up as sub-zero temperatures are expected for New Year's Eve.
Celebratory Celebrations Continue Despite Alerts
Edinburgh's famous Hogmanay festivities are planned to proceed, unlike last year's cancellation. This proceeds amid advisories for snow across northern Scotland.

As we enter Friday, snow alerts are in place across Northern Ireland and extending from Wales, through the north-west, the West Midlands and through to London and most of the south-east of England.
