Ex- Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Prosecutors report that a ex- doctor now faces charges for committing sexual assaults involving thirty-eight victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a detailed and complex investigation, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
The charges come after what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
The charging documents said the 45 charges include:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
